Azad Jammu Kashmir Puts Ban On Dubbed Hindi Channels

April 8, 2015 at 10:05 am | News Desk

MUZAFFARABAD – The local administration of Azad Kashmir has banned four foreign television channels because of being dubbed in Hindi.

Deputy Commissioner Officer Masoodur Rehman Muzaffarabad issued notification to ban National Geographic, Discovery, Pogo and Cartoon Network for three months.

While talking to the media DC Muzaffarabad told that the ban on these specific foreign channels was demanded by the people of Muzaffarabad.

However, the ban will not affect the original English versions of the said channels and will remain on air as usual in the district.

Language issue is a serious matter in the divided valley of Kashmir where hostilities against the neighboring country and its language run deep.
