Contributions of minorities to nation-building recalled

The important role played by religious minorities in the creation and development of Pakistan was recalled by the participants of seminar organized by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI). Speaking at the seminar titled ‘Role of Minorities in Nation-building’, Romaina Khurshid, MNA from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, said that legislation must be drafted to put a stop to the practices of forced religious conversion and forced marriages of girls belonging to minority communities. “Minorities made important contributions for the creation of Pakistan and have a right to practice their religion,” she said. National Foundation Day of the Republic of Korea

Korea has great regard for Pakistan and keenly looks forward to further expansion of relations. General Rizwan Akhtar named new ISI chief

RAWALPINDI: Lieutenant General Rizwan Akhtar has been promoted to the post of Director General Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) on Monday among other promotions within the army ranks. Alliance Francaise de Karachi Resource Centre Inauguration

It was dark - the lights had been turned off, and doors of the French Cultural Centre locked when a gentleman arrived, and bought 7 paintings – among them was a set of 4 honoring the elements which the artist had been reluctant to break. Alliance Francaise de Karachi had invited six painters to be a part of the inaugural ceremony of their new Resource Centre.
