KARACHI, Pakistan: The 5th LADIESFUND® Entrepreneurship Conference (LEC 2014)hosted by Dawood Global Foundation (DGF) was held in Karachi, according to a press release.
The head of UN Women National Committee Canada (NCC) Almas Jiwani was the chief guest at the LEC2014 whereas mountaineer Samina Baig was the keynote speaker at the event which was also attended by a large crowd of women entrepreneurs, professionals and students.
The LEC2014’s theme was “Extreme Entrepreneurs” and the event featured a special message by former UK First Lady Cherie Blair, a social media for business inside scoop by Kamal Faridi, an inspiring talk by Amin Hashwani, a panel of leading women across sectors Asma Yusuf, Dr. Huma Baqai, Saira Hussain and Senator Rukhsana Zuberi, moderated by Zahid Mubarak.
The event was jointly compered by Educate a Girl scholarship winner Jaweria Ali and RJ Khalid Malik of CityFM89.
There was also a comedy routine by Akbar Chaudhry, a rare Latifi Raag performance and blessing.
