Revealing State’s Secrets: China Imprisoned Its Journalist

Chinese writer Gao Yu was sentenced to seven years in prison for spilling state secrets. The 71-year-old, who supposedly passed a procedure paper to an abroad media gathering, has officially put in a year in jail.

A court in China has sentenced the writer Gao Yu to seven years in prison. Beijing’s No. 3 Intermediate People’s Court declared by means of social networking she “illicitly gave state insider facts to outsiders.” Yu’s legal advisor reported the sentence.

Gao had denied the charges.
