KARACHI: Additional Inspector General of Sindh Police Ghulam Qadir Jokhio has directed on Tuesday to accelerate crackdowns against criminals and illegal immigrants residing in Karachi, the metropolitan city of Pakistan.
Additional IG Sindh was chairing special session while several police officials including Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs), Senior Superintendants of Police (SSPs) and investigation officers of all zones were present in the meeting held in Karachi today.
IG Sindh Ghulam Qadir Jokhio ordered fastening the process of gripping against persons involved in illegal activities including criminals of every kind and illegal residents from foreign countries.
The top police official revealed the statistics of illegal immigrants present in the city, said that about 2 million people are residing illegally in Karachi.
Jokhio said that police officials took part in several missions against the criminals, detained 2 target killers and 9 extortionists. He added, “Our morale is high despite less resources.”
Suddenly, the police official surprised everyone by saying that Karachi law and order situation is better now
It should be mentioned that the IG of Sindh Police, Director General Rangers and intelligence agencies would provide briefing to PM Nawaz Sharif pertaining law and order, security situations and no-go areas in Karachi.
