TURBAT: Locals got afraid as shocks of earthquake have been recorded in Khuzdar, Kalat, Sibbi, Surab cities and its suburb areas of the Pakistan’s Balochistan province on Friday night.
Official body for Earthquake measures says intensity of the tremor was 5.3 on Richter scale.
“The centre of the earthquake was 22 kilometers away from Turbat, a city located in southern Balochistan,” US Seismic Monitoring Centre said.
An earthquake with magnitude 5.3 occurred near Kalat, Pakistan at 13:18:22.30 UTC on Oct 18, 2013, according to US Geological Survey.
“The depth of the earthquake was 10 kilometres in earth and location coordinates was 28.258°N 66.489°E.”
According to eyewitnesses, intensity was mild but created panic amongst the locals who got out of their homes reciting First Kalimah, sacred for Muslims.
The areas which experienced the tremor include Khuzdar, Kalat, Sibbi, Surab and its suburb areas.
However, no reports of any damage has emerged yet.
A 5.1 magnitude earthquake struck Balochistan on October 12 (last Saturday) while its tremors tremors felt in some of the areas ravaged by a deadly quake last month.
Last month, tje 7.7-magnitude earthquake last month destructed several areas, including Awaran which killed at least 376 people and left some 100,000 others homeless.
