Islamabad: Federal government has decided to go online and introduces e-governance programme.

This programme would facilitate all the divisions and ministers since all the relevant files would be available online and has been distributed as per departments.

The files have been placed in four categories a, b, c and d and would be available through online movement. However, the secretive files would remain in the form of the documents.

A deal has been signed between the ministry of IT and Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd (PTCL) regarding the e-government programme, PTCL will give its data hosting centre for 15 months.

The project will begin after the approval of Prime Minister; however no time frame can be confirmed for starting the project.

According to the sources, the e-government program is almost complete and will start once it gets approved. I.T Minister, Anusha Rehman met with CEO of PTCL Walid Irshaid regarding the access to the data centre.

This way government won’t have any problems regarding the access of free data hosting centre. All the work regarding the access has already been completed. Thus, e-governance system would facilitate PM house, IT Ministry along with 28 ministries and divisions.
