Cairo: Ghana secured their ticket to next year’s World Cup finals with a 7-3 aggregate African zone play-off win over Egypt on Tuesday.
The Black Stars routed Egypt 6-1 in last week’s first leg in Kumasi, and ensured their place in Brazil despite going down 2-1 in the second leg in Cairo.
Ghana are making their third appearance at a World Cup after their debut in 2006 and 2010 where they lost on penalties in the quarter-finals to Uruguay.
