Google has dedicated its homepage to wish the world Happy Holidays with an interactive doodle.
What doodle describe?
The seasonal greeting shows a one-horse open sleigh dragging along two children, with a snowy background and leafless trees. In its message and in what it depicts, the Doodle avoids any mention of the word Christmas.
This banner heralding Christmas Eve is a relatively rare “global” Google Doodle – meaning that unlike many of the pictures to appear on the search engine’s home page (other than the main logo), it will be seen by everyone in the world when it gets to be 24 December in their time zone.
As the world settles down to enjoy the festive period, Google evidently hopes that everyone can take comfort in its all-encompassing, nondenominational greeting.
All that’s left to say is: “Merry Christmas!” Or: “Happy Holidays!” It’s really up to you.
