Bulgarian-Jane-PetkovSKOPJE: A 59-year-old Bulgarian man has swum more than two kilometres (1.25 miles) completely tied up in a bag in a bid to enter into the Guinness World Records book.

Wrapped in an orange, porous bag with his arms and legs strapped to his body, Jane Petkov swam “on his back, like a dolphin” to cross Lake Ohrid in southern Macedonia, said Saso Tockov, one of the event organisers.

“It took him two hours and 55 minutes, with an average speed of 0.7 kilometres per hour,” Tockov told AFP.

There were no representatives from Guinness World Records present for the swim but organisers said they had met all the requirements needed for the unusual feat to be considered a record attempt.
