KARACHI: Pakistan Navy observed the Defence of Pakistan Day with due solemnity and reverence at headquarters Comkar in KARACHI. The day is observed to commemorate supreme sacrifices of our heroes who stood to the challenge and defeated a much bigger enemy during 1965 Indo-Pak war.

In his message, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Asif Sandila paid rich tribute to Ghazis and Shuhuda and said that Pakistan Navy held an unchallenged supremacy at sea throughout the September war and made the Nation proud.

He said that today Pakistan Navy is faced with multifarious internal and external challenges. A phenomenal naval build up by our arch rival maritime boundary dispute in Sir Creek area and fulfillment of other obligations at sea, warrant a strong Navy to safeguard Pakistan’s maritime interests with renowned vigour. Pakistan Navy has now transformed itself to become a reckonable force. It has largely indigenized warships’ and submarines’ construction, extended its reach and power to the far extents of the Indian Ocean and is an important player in region’s collaborative maritime security.
