Pakistani President holds first meeting with new COAS

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan’s President Mamnoon Hussain held his inaugural meeting with the newly appointed top military official, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, in the President House Islamabad on Tuesday (today).

According to sources, the President congratulated the army chief on becoming Pakistan’s 15th Chief of Army Staff.

Issues pertaining to the national and regional security and military’s professional matters were discussed in the meeting.

Earlier on Tuesday, the army chief was called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and discussed with him the security situation of the country besides issue of missing persons. Defence Minister Khawaja Asif was also present in the meeting.
