ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) developed National Electric Safety Code.

PEC and USAID provided joint effort in designing the national safety code for electricity usage in order to made improvements in human safety, equipments and various infrastructures.

The code is being designed to safeguard public‚ utility workers‚ utility facilities‚ electric supply and communication equipment and premises adjacent to the utility‚ by providing proper safety equipment‚ standards and procedure, Radio Pakistan reported.

According to the report, the code will be implemented across the Pakistan in various sectors including power, communication, maintenance and their subordinate organisations.

Moreover, all four provinces of the country will be ordered for implementation of the safety code before giving approval to any site plan.
