PTI, PAT marches towards Red Zone (live)

ISLAMABAD: Chiefs of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) has started their campaign to enter into Red Zone of the federal capital Islamabad on Tuesday’s night.


PTI chief Imran Khan and PAT chief Tahirul Qadri had delivered their final addresses before leaving for highly-sensitive Red Zone just a minutes ago.

(August 20, 12:20am) PTI and PAT protestors have left behind last barrier of Parliament House while a large number of demonstrators managed to enter Red Zone without a single loss and clash with deployed security personnels.

PAT chief Tahirul Qadri’s vehicle is currently present on Embassy Road of Islamabad while PTI chief Imran Khan has threatened the PM Nawaz Sharif for reaching into Prime Minister’s House if he doesn’t present his resignation from premiership.

(11:53pm) Federal government started working on new strategy, installing the containers again on the entry and exit points of Islamabad, local media reported.

According to reports, the decision was taken to stop more protestors trying to enter in the federal capital from other cities.

(11:42pm) PTI, PAT protestors have managed to reach before Prime Minister’s Secretariat building in Islamabad now. Surprisingly, there is not a single barrier to face by protestors now onwards till Parliament House located 100 metres away.

(11:39pm) Meanwhile, PM’s daughter Maryam Nawaz said that PM Nawaz Sharif has prohibited the usage of power against the PTI, PAT protestors on humanitarian basis.

(11:39pm) Federal minister Khawaja Saad Rafique said, ‘Imran Khan have only way to resolve matters via talks as dictation will not be accepted.’

(11:30pm) Protestors crossed Nadra Chowk after hour long efforts to remove containers and barbed wires from the roads, whereas, security forces have completely silent and avoiding clashes with the crowd.

(10:27pm) Protestors have managed to reach near Embassy Road and Federal Lodges.

(10:18pm) Emergency imposed in Poly Clinic and PIMS Hospital of the federal capital Islamabad.

(10:11pm) Police started baton charge on protestors on Sarena Chowk, started firing rubber bullet while the situation is now going intense near Red Zone. One person injured while the identification is yet undisclosed.

(10:07pm) Imran Khan introduced new slogan, “Lets go to Parliament House!”.

(10:05pm) Security personnels have completely avoided to resist the rally participants heading fastly towards Red Zone Islamabad.

(10:00pm) Dunya News caught former CM Balochistan Aslam Raisani in the march. According to reports, he was resisting against PTI workers during the march while suddenly he left the march.

(09:58) Hundreds of protestors waiting to move forward after removal of next barriers as 20 more containers are being removed by the vehicles.

(09:05pm) First victory of outrageous crowd as it removed first container successfully while police checkposts are not far away now.

(08:58) High-level session under chair of PM Nawaz Sharif commenced in Islamabad in presence of several senior PMLN senior leaders and legal advisors.

(08:37pm) PTI Khan and PAT Qadri combinedly ordered their party workers to start moving forward along with heavy duty vehicle to remove all barriers in way of Red Zone.

PTI chief Imran Khan’s Three Promises:

1. Protestors should maintain peace in the Red Zone.

2. Take revenge from PM Nawaz Sharif if something happened to Imran Khan.

3. No takeover of any building during the peaceful protest.

PAT chief Tahirul Qadri Promises:

1. Peace surety by PAT workers during march

2. No destructive moves for foreign embassies and the Supreme Court (SC)

3. Just stage sit ins before Parliament House Islamabad.
