Pakistan feels the heat as environmentalists criticise plans for coal-fired energy

Saleem Shaikh and Sughra Tunio Plans announced by the Pakistani government to more than double the country’s power output by building upwards of 15 coal-based power plants have drawn strong criticism from environmentalists who fear the consequences for the environment and the health of the country’s population.
