ISLAMABAD: A month after revealing that he will quit Express News over and issue of ‘freedom of speech’, Syed Talat Hussain — senior journalist and host of Express News’ Live with Talat — finally left the television channel on Saturday.
Talat, a prominent journalist of Pakistan who is having more than 189 thousand followers on twitter, while starting his 8pm show on Saturday said, “Today is my last program on Express News”.
“Tonight at 8pm my last prog on Expressnews.Will be off-screen for a few weeks and then back again elsewhere!,” Talat tweeted minutes before his program.
On July 30, in his article on his own website, Talat wrote that he is quitting the channel over an issue of “freedom of speech”.Talat, who had worked for several big television channels including Aaj News, Dawn News, joined the channel in July 2012.He had worked as resident editor of The News, the country’s leading English daily.
