Toronto city council has taken some strict action against the highly controversial mayor Rob Ford. While Ford vows to challenge this action in court.
He said in the council meeting, “I can’t support this, and I have really no other options but to challenge this in court.”
Toronto city council has no authority to remove the mayor from his office as the legal rules of Ontario, a province in Canada, does not allow such an action.
Ford became an international celebrity by admitting that he has bought illegal drugs and even dared to use crack cocaine in his office.
He also apologized for his reaction on sex allegation, “I want to apologize for my graphic remarks this morning. For the past six months I have been under tremendous, tremendous stress.” Mind you, his wife Renata was accompanying her.
He further added, “I fully realize in the past I have drank alcohol in excess. I wish you to know that I’m receiving support from a team of healthcare professionals.”
Illegal drugs and cocaine are not the only issues, he also admitted drunk driving.
Even the polling firm, Ipsos-Reid, has clearly said that Ford does stand a chance against his rivals in any upcoming elections.
