Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) observed across country

LAHORE, RAWALPINDI, KARACHI: Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) was observed across the country on Saturday to commemorate the matchless sacrifices of Nawasa-e Rasool (SAW) and his companions at Karbala.  According to details, processions were taken out and majalis were held in all the main cities and towns to pay homage to the martyrs of Karbala. Strict security arrangements were made to ensure security to the processions and the Majalis.   In Karachi, about 70 small and big processions were taken out while more than 290 majalis were held all over the city. Dr Qadri angiography report not satisfactory, PAT spokesperson

LAHORE: Spokesperson of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) said on Saturday that angiography report of its chief Dr Tahir Ul Qadri has not come satisfactory which stated that two of his heart valves  have been partially blocked. Doctors did not allow him to address the PAT protests. The spokesperson said that the PTA chief will undergo further tests and his treatment will continue. Pakistan A in toss, opts to bowl against Kenya

LAHORE: Pakistan A won the toss and elected to bowl first against Kenya in 1st of five One-Day match series played at Gaddafi stadium Lahore. The match was reduced to 45 over and public is only allowed to enter the stadium with a ticket. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shahryar Khan also met both teams before the match. Special medical team forced to leave famine-hit Tharparkar

Pillion riding ban implemented in Karachi

KARACHI: Sindh government has implemented a two-day ban on pillion riding in Karachi amid security concerns in wake of Chehlum processions. Suicide attack on army bus in Kabul kills 6

KABUL: A suicide bomber hit army bus in Kabul with initial reports of six people killed the attack, local media reported on Thursday. According to reports, six persons were dead on the spot while five persons were also injured in the suicide attack.
