‘Chairman NADRA not pressurised for resignation’

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior clarified that the federal government has not forced the chairman National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) Tariq Malik for producing his resignation.

The Interior Ministry spokesperson clarified that the Pakistan government has not put pressure on the chairman NADRA for his resignation while new appointment will be made by transparent procedure.

According to spokesperson, prominent and famous personalities has been including in the NADRA’s board while transparent procedure will be adopted for new appointment on the post.

He reiterated that the provision of Malik’s resignation was complete free from any governmental pressure as well as transparency will be ensured in all subordinate departments of interior ministry.

It should be mentioned that the chairman NADRA Tariq Malik had sent his resignation to the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on January 10 after winning legal fight on the chairmanship post in Islamabad High Court (IHC) on December 3.

The IHC decision came after the governmental move which ousted Tariq Malik on December 2 but without any early notice or warning regarding his organisational work.
