Imran Khan and Abdul Sattar Edhi have been included in The Times’ 30 most admired persons on this planet. Imran got the 12th spot while Edhi was on number 29th.
Bill Gates was the most admired person as he was on top of the list beating the pope, Barack Obama and Vladimi Putin.
YouGov conducted the survey internationally for the Times, questioning 13,895 people from Great Britain, France, Germany, Russia, the US, Australia, Pakistan, Indonesia, India, China, Egypt, Nigeria and Brazil.
Imran Khan was ranked higher than many great personalities like Queen Elizabeth 11, Angelina Jolie, Oprah Winfrey, George W. Bush, Angela Merkel, and Hillary Clinton.
The list also had names from India and few of them were in top 10 including cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, extremist Hindu politician Narendra Modi, filmstar Amitabh Bachchan, and former president Abdul Kalam.
The Times said that no British politician was able to earn any position in top ten which shows lack of nation’s trust in Britain’s politicians.
Chief executive of YouGov, Stephan Shakespeare commented. “we really have a very low opinion of politicians in Britain. In America, they hate the guys [in parties] they don’t support, but they really like their own guys. Here, we really don’t like our own guys, either.”
