India deserves lion’s share of cricket revenue: CA Chairman

February 3, 2014 at 1:02 am | News Desk

NewMELBOURNE: Cricket Australia chairman Wally Edwards has said that India deserves a fair compensation for contributing 80 per cent of the revenue by “hiring out” its team.

CA chairman has come out in strong support of the BCCI receiving a lion’s share of world cricket revenue by giving this statement about the new revenue distribution model in the controversial International Cricket Council (ICC) revamp plan that would see the BCCI receiving the lion’s share.

Edwards said people should understand that India will get just 20 per cent of ICC revenue despite contributing 80 per cent of it, according to Press Trust of India.

It must be noted that the recent developments in international cricket for the control of its governing body by three countries namely Australia, England and India are being criticised by many  nations in the game including Pakistan, South Africa and hordes of journalists and game’s die-hard lovers.
