ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday has once again postponed the schedules of local bodies’ election in two provinces including Sindh and Punjab.
The ECP had to issue schedule of LB elections today (Saturday). However, it will now be made public on December 9.
The ECP directed Punjab and Sindh to complete all legal procedures by today. However, both provinces sought more time to fulfill all legal requirements for the holding of LB polls, according to a private TV channel.
The Punjab authorities asked three more days while Sindh sought a week’s time to complete all legalities.
Meanwhile, all preparations have been made to hold local bodies elections in Balochistan today (Saturday). According to ECP, voting will take place at more than 4,600 polling stations while 2,776 polling stations of Balochistan were declared sensitive.
