May 10, 2015 at 10:00 am | News Desk

PESHAWAR: A low intensity earthquake of magnitude 4.2 jolted Sawat and the nearby areas.

According to the department seismography KPK, the origin of these shocks was Afghanistan mountain region and Hindu Kush. However, no human loss has been reported so far.

The magnitude of earthquake was recorded as 4.2 on the rector scale according to the seismography department.

Sources said that the earthquake did not carry any series of frequent jolts and had diminished soon after hitting the northern parts.

Experts are of the view that such shocks of mild frequency and intensity are of regular nature owing to the geography of these areas and have nothing to do with the earthquake that had hit Nepal last week.
