MQM groom arrest: AIG announces cash reward, certificates for police team

KARACHI: Additional Inspector General Karachi Shahid Hayat has announced to give cash reward and certificates to the police team which arrested the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) activist Fahad Aziz, local television reported.

According local Urdu television Dunya News, disclosing the arrest of Fahad, the police said that the accused was involved in several murder and other cases, adding that further investigation are being carried out.

The police said that he would be presented before the court soon.

Earlier, a police team intercepted accused Fahad’s wedding procession in Shah Faisal colony and arrested him.

The MQM Rabita Committee has strongly condemned the incident and staged a sit-in at Karachi press club. Addressing a press conference, the committee members demanded the government to change the police leadership within 24 hours, adding that the party would announce its future course of action if their demands were not met.
