Oil reserves of Pakistan Railways enough for 14 days: Saad Rafique

LAHORE: Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Muhammad Saad Rafique said that the government was taking all possible measures to overcome the shortage of petroleum products soon and Prime Minister suspended the concerned senior officers in the regard.

He was addressing the inauguration of work on a link road project in Lahore on Sunday.

He said that Pakistan Railways has enough oil reserves for fourteen days, which will be increased up to thirty days with passage of time. He said that all possible measures are being taken for decreasing the losses and increasing the income of Pakistan Railways.

He said that green belt will be formed on both sides of rail track from Shahdara Lahore to Raiwind and all wastes will be removed from this area.

Railways Minister said that Baaba-e-Pakistan Project will be launched in Lahore this year, to pay homage to the migrants from India at the time of partition.

About the link road project, Khawaja Saad Rafique said that this one hundred million rupees project will link area from Seven-up Railway Crossing to the Ferozepur Road in Lahore. He said that this project will be completed within three months. Later, he inaugurated the work on the project.
