RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) sector on Monday kicked-off a “peaceful protest” movement against the “illegal” closer of the gas.
Ghayas Abdullah Paracha, the chairman of the Supreme Council of All Pakistan CNG Association, termed the closer illegal and said that they have kicked-off movement against it. “Government says there is no gas in the system and it is giving priority to domestic consumer but as the same time arrangement are also being made to provide the gas the industrial sector.”
The CNG stations’ owners, workers and transporters also staged the first protest at Kocheri Road in Rawalpindi and begun their movement.
Paracha said that provision of the CNG for eight hours on daily basis could save the jobs of thousands of people and the investment of over Rs450 billion.
