Samsung is the founder of phablet category as company launched Original Samsung Galaxy Note in 2011. But now this year company introduce its third version known as Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

This year we have seen HTC One Max and Nokia Lumia 1520 emerge as first competitor of Samsung’s Phablet. Both new phablets are in pursue of Samsung Galaxy Note 3, but they are not so far away.

The unique thing about Nokia’s phablet that it is the only phablet available in the market which runs on Windows 8 while HTC’s and Samsung’s phablet runs on Android.

Now Pantech emerge as the new rival with the leading companies of the market. The Pantech Vega Secret Up features a 5.6-inch 1920 x 1080 Full HD display and is running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. It is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit (GPU), and 2GB of RAM to provide a fast and fluid user interface. The handset’s audio quality receives a boost by using Qualcomm’s Dynamic Range Enhancement (DRE) for an even audio experience.

Its camera capabilities include a 13-megapixel rear camera and 2.1 megapixel front-facing shooter. The Vega Secret Up ships with 16GB of internal storage and has support for up to 2TB of space (Pantech does not indicate how the handset will do this, but it’s likely cloud storage). The phablet uses a large 3,150 mAh battery, its dimensions are 151.4 x 76.4 x 9.5 mm and it weighs in at 173.0g.

Pantech also revealed that it will sell a special flip case for the Vega Secret Up that will not only protect the smartphone, but will also serve double-duty by amplifying the smartphone’s sound. The company claims that the case’s amplifier effect will be the same as a concert hall.

The Pantech Vega Secret Up will go on sale this month in Korea and will be offered in choice of black or white models. The company has yet not revealed what other regions will get to see its new security and audio focused phablet. The price also remains unknown at this point.
