On 1st April 2022, the 2022 Presidents’ Forum of Hubei-South Asian Universities & The 2nd Meeting of South Asian-Hubei Universities Alliance was held online and offline at Yichang, Hubei province China hosted by the Hubei provincial department of education and hosted by the three gorges university. The Theme of the conference was Cooperation and Exchange between Universities in Hubei and South Asia in the Post-epidemic Era: Opportunities, Challenges and Countermeasures. Yu xuemin, Deputy director of Hubei provincial education department, Zhang Jin’an, Vice mayor of Yichang Municipal People’s Government, Wang Junchang, General manager of Yunnan Nadebei hydropower development Co., Ltd., and 70 representatives of 11 Chinese Universities and institutions and 28 south Asian universities and institutions including Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sir Lanka, & India attended the meeting. 16 Universities & Institutes from Pakistan including China Pakistan Medical Association attended the conference. Dr. Muhammad Shahbaz, President of China Pakistan Medical Association, was invited to attend the forum as a keynote speaker. Presidents, Vice Chancellors and Heads of Universities and Institutions participated the conference and joined the alliance.
Prof. Atta-ur-Rahman, Patron-in-Chief of International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences?University of Karachi updated about the current cooperation projects between Pakistan and China in Science, Technology, and Innovation and Challenges for Socio-Economic Development. Dr. Muhammad Shahbaz, President of China Pakistan Medical Association gave brief overview of China Pakistan Health Corridor. Projects and Challenges & Future of Medical Education. He presented the data of international students studying in China and emphasized the collaborative efforts to establish a mechanism for the early return of the international students by using the platform. He also updated the current cooperation projects between China and Pakistan’s medical institutions especially in the Research, joint training, Digital medicine & Traditional medicine. He also announced the establishment of China Pakistan Alliance in the field of Traditional Medicine in near future. Prof. Muhammad Umar, Vice Chancellor of Rawalpindi Medial College, Prof. Shahzad Ali Khan from Health Services Academy, LUMS, Wah University and other spoke at the conference.

and Ms. Zhang Jin’an, Vice Mayor of Yichang Municipal People’s Government and Prof. He Weijun, Party Secretary of China Three Gorgeous University introduced the policies and emphasized the cooperation and exchanges between the Alliance members. The participants discussed and exchanged in-depth views on “cooperation and exchange between Hubei and south Asian universities in the post-epidemic era: opportunities, challenges and countermeasures”, shared their excellent experience in cooperation and exchange, introduced the important cooperation projects and cooperation platforms that have been carried out and will be carried out, and expressed their willingness to actively expand cooperation in the field of education.
Chen huidong made a speech entitled “strengthening Hubei-south Asia higher education cooperation and jointly building a community of shared future for mankind” at the meeting, sharing the successful experience “challenges and opportunities brought by the epidemic” and “future cooperation plan”. Dr. Sampath Fernando, Dean of Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages?Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka; Local Director of Confucius Classroom at SUSL presented the Strategies to Promote Chinese Language Teaching in Secondary Schools in Sri Lanka.
It is reported that from October 15 to 19, 2018, the first “China Hubei – south Asia university presidents forum” was held in Wuhan and Yichang. the China Hubei-south Asia university alliance was established at the same time. The first forum was hosted by the department of education of Hubei province and co-hosted by Hubei university and China three gorges university. the purpose is to implement the national “belt and road” education action plan, deepen the cooperative relationship between Hubei universities and universities in south Asian countries, gradually establish a long-term and stable Hubei-south Asia education exchange mechanism, expand the influence of Hubei education in south Asian countries, and promote all-round cooperation between Hubei and south Asian countries in the fields of culture, trade, tourism and manufacturing.
