Saudi Arabia signals support in energy projects of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Saudi King Abdullah bin-Abdul Aziz sent special message of cooperation in energy and other sectors for Pakistani nation via the KSA’s Foreign Minister Saud Al-Faisal’s ongoing visit to Pakistan, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid said.

The Pakistani Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid says Saudi Arabia will invest in energy sector in Pakistan.

He said all counties including US and India want cooperation with Pakistan, adding that Saudi King Abdullah bin-Abdul Aziz had sent special message of cooperation in energy and other sectors for Pakistani nation.

Talking to newsmen in Islamabad, he said Saudi Arabia is best friend of Pakistan.

The Minister said Saudi Arabia has reiterated its determination to play full part for the economic progress of Pakistan.

He said Pakistan’s relations with other countries are strengthening as a result of policies adopted by the government.

He said that the government is weak and law is strong, adding that the matter of local bodies elections is in courts, adding that the government will implement the orders of the court.

To a question, Information Minister said matter regarding holding local bodies elections are in the court.  He said the government will abide by the decisions of the courts.

The Minister said inputs from all the stakeholders will be taken while formulating agricultural, industrial and trade policies.  He said the Prime Minister has already directed for formation of a Committee on Public-Private basis in this regard.

Pervaiz Rashid while responding to a question said PTI Chairman Imran Khan should concentrate on improvement of performance in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa instead of criticising good work being carried out by Chief Minister Punjab.

Information Minister said Imran Khan has forgotten that rigging was proved against one of his Abbottabad candidate.

Earlier, speaking at the launching ceremony of a book “Biting the Silver Bullet” written by Rana Akthar, Parvez Rashid said that Pakistan is a victim of terrorism and has sacrificed a lot in the war against terror.

He said that the international community must acknowledge the sacrifices of Pakistan in this regard.

The Information Minister said that Pakistan has been an ally in the war against terror for more than a decade. He said the human loss of Pakistan alone is more than that of United States and NATO in this war.

Pervaiz Rashid said that the government has adopted a comprehensive approach to resolve the issues with the neighbouring countries.

He said Pakistan clearly supports an Afghan led and Afghan Owned solution of the Afghanistan issue.

On the occasion Rana Akthar thanked Parvez Rashid for attending the book launching ceremony. He said there is no fear while making policy but the fear comes during the implementation of the policy. He said it was not possible for Pakistan to promote US interests.
