Security agencies warn major terrorism bid in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Security arrangements have been tightened in order to avert any act of terrorism in Islamabad, the federal capital of Pakistan.

Intelligence agencies warned for attacks by assailants in near future, security measures has been increased in all sensitive spots of the city after receiving signals from intel departments.

According to intel reports, terrorists could target air headquarters in Islamabad while terrorism activities can be carried out on Eid festival.

However, Police, Navy and Pakistan Air Force (PAF) special teams have conducted combined raid in the city and detained some suspected persons.

Senior Superintendent of Police Operations Dr. Rizwan told the media that 30 special teams comprising of Police, Navy and PAF commandoes have been formed for a combined military search operation in Islamabad and arrested suspected persons.

SSP further added that some teams were deployed on Margalla Mountains in order to prevent any militant attack in the federal capital city of Pakistan.
