Turkey has warned Google to remove the images of slain Turkish prosecutor who was held hostage last week or otherwise they will be banned Google.
These images were taken during a court session when two gunmen had hijacked a prosecutor. And then in an unsuccessfully attempt to save the prosecutor from the invaders two policemen were also killed.
After Google removed the link to sites that display images on Google, ban was lifted.
Turkey had also stopped several other social network sites where these images were circulating.
On 6th April Turkish court ordered internet suppliers to turn off the Internet access of YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and more than 160 sites those were circulating controversial pictures of death of public prosecutor Mehmet Selim Kiraz.
Kiraz, 46, was taken hostage by an outlawed Marxist-Leninist group on March 31 at Istanbul Caglayan Courthouse and was shot by his captors after hours of negotiations between Turkish police forces and the two hostage-takers. He died of his wounds at the hospital.
Kiraz had been overseeing the case of Berkin Elvan, 15, who was critically injured during 2013’s anti-government Gezi Park protests and died after almost nine months in a coma.
Google has yet not discussed about anything regarding formally ban or to avoid any action taken regarding the move.
