United States trade gap widens sharply in September

WASHINGTON: The United States trade deficit increased sharply in September, to $41.8 billion, as imports swelled, the Commerce Department reported Thursday. The increase in the trade gap was much larger than analysts expected, with the average estimate pegged at $39.1 billion. The Commerce Department slightly downwardly revised the August trade deficit to $38.7 billion, previously estimated at $38.8 billion. In September, US imports jumped $2.7 billion from the prior month to $230.7 billion. Exports fell to $188.9 billion from $189.2 billion in August. Many injured in twin blasts near Imam Bargah in Karachi

KARACHI: Many injured including a child, 2 journalists and security personnel in North Nazimabad area of Karachi on Wednesday night. According to TheNewsTribe’s correspondent from Pakistan’s largest city Karachi “twin blasts reported in Pahar Ganj area, located in North Nazimabad town of the city”. Govt urged to re-negotiate gas pricing formula with Iran

ISLAMABAD: The Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) has urged the government to re-negotiate with Iran on gas pricing formula and delink it from crude oil prices.
